Fatigue, hard lump

September 2007 – I had a porta-cat put in for the upcoming chemo.

April 2008 – I had a bi-lateral mastectomy and reconstruciton.

Septmber 2008 – I had the pota-cat removed one year to the day. I’m now waiting for the final stage of reconstruction.

I had Carboplatin, Abraxene, Avastin and Herceptin every week for 6 months. To the amazement of everyone around me I did NOT lose all my hair.

6 months weekly Herceptin then 6 months every third week

Redefining Pink....Views: 173

Pink is the color that defined me as a child. I had a Pepto pink, bedroom in Sunnyvale, California filled with Sear’s white, French Provincial furnilture. My canopy bed had a white chiffon cover with tiny satin pink flowers embroidered on it. I felt safe. It was the pink of every little girl’s dream…

Now I wear pink in the battle against breast cancer. This weekend I will be sporting a pink t-shirt and cap denoting my stance as a HER-2 Positive, breast cancer survivor.

The color pink has evolved from a soft, innocent, cushy puff to the emblem of a omnicient warrior with direction and strength. I am one of millions, redefining pink.

I like Pink,

I will be placing Breast Cancer Posters in windows of some stores here on the Central Coast of CA. It says “Get Your Mammogram”
Some lump were not seen on the Mammogram and was found by other tests, but It is the first step.

There will be a lot of Pink Products being sold,
with some of the money going to breast Cancer support. I know this has been posted before, but it is good to know just how much will be donated to Breast Cancer cause. I know some will donate
a very small amount, others a lot. So beware!

.....beware?

I agree with Sherri. Please beware. Companies now use that famous pink ribbon to market there product and to sell more. Breast Cansor has become a hugh money making opportunity for many companies. I love the idea of research but what about the people going though this horrible disease currently. Average people who need help with the everyday basics. I now choose to support fundraisiers who funnel money directly into the community. We don’t need anymore drugs we need a CURE.

Agree with what? It is a pro pink blog…pink is not weak or innocent, it is strong and aware. What in the world are you talking about??? It isn’t just for babies any more it is for people who have fought for their lives with everything they have. After breast cancer pink becomes redefined as strength. Ithink you are way off to suggest I implied anything else.

Stacy,
WELCOME to the blog.
I have a tee shirt that my daughter gave me that I love to wear. It is black but it has the pink ribbon on the front with the words “fight like a girl” in pink. All cancer survivors know all about that fight.
My late husband had a beautiful pink sport coat and I thought he looked so handsome in it.

Joyce In NC

Wearing pink is fabulous. I wear it everyday. You love the color to and it has so much strength behind it. It just bothers me when companies are taking advantage of what people will buy when it is pink. You are absolutely correct about your beliefs. I just know there is a not-so-honest side to it all. I hope you are well and keep wearing your pink proudly!

Hi Stacy,

I think we all started off on the wrong foot.
We are here to help each other. We would like to get to know you a litter better, so fill us in on what is going on in your life.

Hug Sherri
